Breathing Life into the Chesapeake: Of Oysters, Boats, and Men

Oysters, Boats and Men follows the watermen of the Chesapeake from Coles Point on the Potomac River down the Western shore of the bay to Gloucester Point as they farm, harvest, dredge and tong oysters.   It tells of the wooden boats they used and takes you out on a skipjack and a round stern deadrise.  Ernie Harding tells stories like only a man who has never held a job on dry land can do.  The story continues as does the story of oysters, boats, and the men and women who work the waters of the Chesapeake.
